When I was younger I never really valued silence, nor did I see the need for it. For me, silence was a missed opportunity to voice your opinions, to be productive, to communicate. That’s why quiet and solitude are such an important part of the life of faith. It is in solitude and silence that God waits for you. The more often you practice solitude, the more often you will find the God who waits, and the more you will hear the God who speaks.
